Every year, Union County must prepare an Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the proposed use of CDBG funds and must ensure that activities and projects funded with these federal funds meet one of the three statutory objectives:
Benefit low/moderate income residents/areas;
Prevent or eliminate slum and blight either on an area or spot basis; and
Meet an urgent need (for example, in the case of a natural disaster).
The AAP is a planning document detailing how the County proposes to spend the CDBG funds during the specific program year. For 2023-2024, Union County will receive $1,092,632, and is proposing to use the funds for Administration, Public Services, Housing Activities and Public Facilities and Infrastructure Improvements starting on or about July 1, 2023.
The public can view the draft and final versions of the 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan as well as public notices and other published materials in the Documents Library.

Our citizen participation efforts allow residents and the general public to provide input and feedback on our 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan. There are several ways for individuals to submit their public comments – public hearings, email, phone call and this site. All public comments are valued and treated equally regardless of how they are submitted. Individuals only need to participate using one method.
If you have any difficulties participating, please contact Clayton Voignier, Director of Strategy & Innovation at CDBG@unioncountync.gov or 704-283-3687.
Public comments submitted below, including your name and address, will be published in the final 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan and presented to the Board of Commissioners.
Thank you for your contribution!
