FAQs
What is the difference between foster care and adoption?
Foster care is temporary with the goal of most foster care placements is reunification, supporting a child while their family works toward stability so they can return home safely. Adoption is permanent and some children experiencing foster care may become available for adoption if reunification is not possible, and some foster families choose to adopt. But foster parenting and adoption are two separate processes and you do not have to be open to adoption to become a foster parent.
